Xiaonan Lu Won 3MT Competition at UNT Presenting her Research on Nuclear Waste Glasses

Xiaonan Lu is a PhD student at the UNT team currently working on glass corrosion of the WastePD project. She recently participated the 3MT (3 minutes thesis) competition organized by UNT Graduate School and, among fierce competition, won the 1st place with $3000 prize. Xiaonan presented her thesis research on study of nuclear waste glasses by combining experimental and computational methods. She will represent UNT to the regional competition. Local newspaper Denton Record Chronicle has a nice report of the event:
Xiaonan is very appreciative of her experience to visit PNNL, and the opportunity to work and interact with many multiple researchers in her research, and the encouraging and collaborative environment provided by the WastePD project, and the funding to support her PhD study from our NEUP (earlier) and WastePD (current) projects.
